Donald Lawrence Douglas

Donald Douglas, 82 of Inverness Township, passed away on November 11, 2017 at Pinecrest Hospice in Mackinaw City.

Donald was born on January 28, 1935, the son of George and Tilly (Gauthier) Douglas. He grew up in Cheboygan and attended Hebron School. On August 23, 1952, he married Laura Nestell in Cheboygan. Donald was a Golden Age Eagle at the Local Cheboygan FOE. He enjoyed rabbit hunting, playing card games including cribbage and euchre at the local senior center, going to the casino, gardening, and canning his vegetables.

Donald is survived by his children Lorie (Bruce) Dossey, Sandy Douglas, Donald Douglas Jr., and Robert Douglas, 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, his sister Shirley Cassidy, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Laura, a child Larry Douglas, and 13 siblings.

A funeral will be held for Donald on November 16, 2017, visitation starting at 10am, funeral at 12pm at the Nordman-Christian Funeral Home. The Rev. John Wallace will officiate.

A burial will follow in the spring time at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
