Donna M. (McLeod) Taylor

Donna M. Taylor, 86, of Cheboygan, passed away August 9, 2017 at her home.

A lifelong resident of the area, Donna was born December 25, 1930 in Cheboygan, the daughter of Alexander “Scotty” and Hattie (Duffy) McLeod.  On December 10, 1949 in Cheboygan, she married James Taylor, who preceded her in death in 2003.  She enjoyed bowling, golfing, jigsaw puzzles, trips to the casino, serving homemade cookies to the neighborhood children, and decorating her home for Christmas and Halloween.  Donna’s family was her priority in life.  She was also a member of St. James Episcopal Church, the hospital auxiliary, the Bishops Guild of St. James, and the 16th Armored Division auxiliary.

In 1988, Jim and Donna began spending winters in their home in Zephyrhills, Florida, and after Jim’s passing, Donna continued to spend her winters there where she had many wonderful friends.

Surviving are her two sons, Rod (Audrey) Taylor, and their children, Vincent (Erin) Taylor, Adam (Carrie) Taylor, and Pamela (Patrick) Goetz, Ned (Donna) Taylor, and their children, Tamara (Scott) Pasney, and Brian (Lisa) Taylor, two daughters, Terry Drake, and her children, Matthew (Nicole) Drake, and Dennis (Katherine) Drake, and Sally Spray, and her children, Greg, Gary(Gina), and Nichole Spray, 21great grandchildren, sister in law, Pat McLeod,  former daughter in law, Laurel Taylor, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James, her parents, a sister, Barbara Turner, a brother, Donald McLeod, and two sons in law, Michael Drake and Donald Spray.

The family will greet friends on Friday, August 18, 2017, from 2:00pm-4:00pm, and 6:00pm-8:00pm, at the Nordman-Christian Funeral Home in Cheboygan.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 11:00am, with the family greeting friends beginning at 10:00am, at St. James Episcopal Church in Cheboygan.  Rev. Lewis Crusoe will officiate, burial will be at Pinehill Cemetery

Memorials may be made to St. James Episcopal Church, Hospice of the Straits, or the 16th Armored Division.
