Donna (Comps) Wing

Donna M. Wing, 88, of Cheboygan, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Hiland Cottage in Petoskey.

A resident of Cheboygan most of her adult life, Donna was born June 16, 1928 in Pontiac, the daughter of Lawrence and Bernice (O’Neil) Comps.  On May 9, 1946 in Cheboygan, she married Walter Wing, who survives.  Prior to moving to the area, she worked in several factories in the Pontiac area, and was a representative for Mary Kay Cosmetics.  She also collected dolls, enjoyed shopping, and was a member of St. Mary/St. Charles Catholic Church, the Daughters of Isabella, and TOPS.

Surviving are her husband of seventy years, Walter, seven children, Lawrence (Christine) Wing of White Lake, Virginia Watson of Commerce, Walter Wing, III of Cheboygan, Richard (Amy) Wing of Auburn Hills, Daniel (Alicia) Wing of Walled Lake, and Denise (John) Woiderski and John (Sarah) Wing, both of Cheboygan, her grandchildren, Theresa (Bill) Beardslee, Lawrence Wing, Doreen Watson, Laura Latour, Gary Wing, Jr., Walter Wing IV, Richard (Stephanie) Wing, Robert (Amy) Wing, Ryan (Nicole) Wing, Mandy (Shawn) Blaisdell, Molly Woiderski, Nicholas Wing, and Amber (Josh) Agee, 25 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren, a sister, Irene (Gardner) Dodd of Cheboygan, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Gary, a granddaughter, Jennifer Beard, two sisters, twin sister Doris Maczka, and Betty Gahn, a brother, John Comps, and a son in law, Larry Watson.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 6, 2017, from 2:00pm-4:00pm, and 6:00pm-8:00pm, with a scripture service beginning at 7:00pm, at the Nordman-Christian Funeral Home in Cheboygan.  The funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 7,  2017 at 11:00am, with the family greeting friends beginning at 10:00am, at St. Mary/St. Charles Catholic Church in Cheboygan.  Rev. Duane Wachowiak will officiate, burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in the spring.
