Doris (Shessia) Crist

Doris M. Crist, 93, of Cheboygan, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Tendercare of Cheboygan.

A lifelong resident of the area, Doris was born September 22, 1924 in Cheboygan, the daughter of Joseph and Louise (Eno) Shessia.  On July 18, 1942 in Cheboygan, she married Boyd Crist, who preceded her in death in 2016.  With her husband Boyd, she owned and operated Boyd Crist Dredging and Seawall Construction.  They also had a sturgeon fish shanty rental business on Black Lake.  She enjoyed playing cards, trips to the casino, hunting and fishing with her husband, and taking many extended trips into the wilderness of Canada. 

Surviving are her four sons, Ronald (Jaclyn) Crist of Cheboygan, Gary (Mary Stump) Crist and David Crist, both of Wolverine, and Larry (Patty) Crist, also of Cheboygan, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Boyd Crist, two sisters, Merle McGovern and Marie Clark, a brother, Clayton, and her step father, Frank LaVigne,  

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 12:00 noon sharp, with the family greeting friends beginning at 10:00am, at the Grant Township Hall.
