Elizabeth Kathryn (Hannam) Hand

Liz Hand, 72 of Petoskey, passed away on May 29, 2019 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit surrounded by  family.  Liz was born May 22, 1947 in Grand Rapids the daughter of James and Frances (Page) Hannam.  She grew up in Kaleva and graduated from Kaleva Norman Dickson High School.  On August 24, 1968 she married Louis Hand and moved north with him to start their life together. Liz was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She always helped Louie on the farm and also worked at 7-11 in both Charlevoix and Petoskey and Glen’s North in Petoskey.

Liz loved her family and her pets, especially her cats whom she doted on and spoiled with far too many treats. She baked delicious bread and loved to feed the people she loved. She loved flowers and birds. She had a great sense of humor and loved a good laugh.

Liz is survived by her husband Louis Hand of Petoskey, her sons James (Jenni) Hand of Petoskey and Christopher Hand of Lansing, her sister Frannie (Ted) Oldham of Petoskey, and her beloved granddaughter Samantha of Charlevoix. She is also survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Liz was preceded in death by her parents James and Frances Hannam, siblings James Hannam III, Barbara Isbell, and Patti Hannam.

A memorial service will be held at Stone Funeral Home in Petoskey on Wed., June 5 at 2:00 with a visitation for family and friends from 1:00-2:00.
