To Eric's family :
I didn't know Eric , but I have suffered from major depression, since I was little , and lost my dear sister in law who, battled severe depression , to,suicide a few years ago,. I don't want to,make this post about me ,for this is about Eric .I am,so,truly sorry for your loss .Any form of mental illness. is so life consuming , painful, and difficult. I'm sure I don't have to tell you the frustration , pain and helplessness the people who loved Eric endured . It is a real horrible illness . If Eric made it through a day ,that is a huge conquer and very brave. .Sometimes its getting through the next breath . God Bless you and know you are not alone. My deepest respect. Kathy

Eric I so enjoyed the time that you and Celia spent with me; All the mornings we spent drinking coffee and talking about the future, The times we went fishing to forget about the troubles of this world and just seeing the gentle care and love you had for my daughter and Vera. It was magical to me watching you and Celia spending hours in the kitchen cooking all those extravagant meals together. Your dreams of owning a farm were the same dreams that my wife and I had before she went to Heaven, much too early. I hope you met her now because I know she would love you. Perhaps we'll have that generational farm when Jesus comes back and we beat our swords into plowshares to restore the earth to what it was meant to be.
You know how I felt for you because I told you I loved you and thought you were a good man and I saw how you stood by Celia and loved Vera when you asked me for Celia's hand in marriage.
I thought you two were off to a good start, but the troubles of this world can weigh very heavy on a good man's heart and break it in a moment of weakness.
I will miss you friend as I really looked forward to some great times in the future with you. Rest Assured, I will do my best to take care of Celia and Vera. I'll still even try to get the farm.
Celia told Vera that you went to Heaven to be with Grandma and you wont be coming back, but some day we will all be together again.
I already miss you, Love, Paul

I am so sorry for the loss of Eric. He so wanted to start a new life with my niece Celia and her daughter Vera whom he loved so very much. I thank god that our family was blessed to meet and know him if just for a short time. We so much enjoyed his friendship that he showed our family. We are grieving for him and all the families.

Eric was one heck of a guy, and always helped those in need. He was a light to the world that was extinguished too soon. R.I.P. brother, you will be missed!

As the darkness he endured is unknown to any other, the peace he now has in the arms of our Lord overcomes all. My heart goes out to his family.

My sincere condolences to the Mumma family. Although I did not know Eric I understand your pain and heartache. My son died by suicide from depression the end of June. If I had any wise words to help the family through this difficult time I would pass it on. However I do not. I am still grieving and miss my son dearly. I take it one moment at a time and stop to grieve when the wave washes over me whenever or wherever I am. It has literally been one moment at a time. I would reach out to others in like situations. I have found grief counseling and attending the Survivors of Suicide group to be helpful. I will be praying for your family.
