Frank Edward Shepherd, 59, died October 8, 2018 at Hiland Cottage in Petoskey, after a strong fight with cancer for the past 14 years.
Frank was born September 9, 1959, the eldest child of Edward and Anne (Foster) Shepherd. He was a graduate of the 1977 class of Harbor Springs High School.
Over the years, Frank worked various jobs, as a bus driver, farmer and as an operator of equipment but mostly, he enjoyed his time working at KRG in Harbor Springs, where he worked as an excavator for 29 years. In his spare time, Frank enjoyed restoring old cars and working around the house and yard. His true passion was the family farm. Frank absolutely loved doing every job at the farm, from tending to the cattle, harvesting, and riding tractors. He was a former member of Future Farmers of America and President of the Lakeview Cemetery Board in Harbor Springs.
Frank was a family man. Nobody celebrated holidays and birthdays like Frank did. He will be remembered by those he loved for his big smile and bright blue eyes. He was devoted, caring and extremely loyal.
