It is with great sadness that I am writing this today. We have known of the Matelski family for many years through our camping at Young State Park and buying firewood at the mill. This all changed a dozen or so years ago when my family and I had the privilege of camping next to some of the brothers over the 4th of July. What a treat to get to know them! From the vending machine (Steeler's I think!) full of beer to the awesome stew they were cooking in the half barrel over the fire! It was a week to remember and we always will. From that time forward I would consider them friends. We continue to get firewood from them but that has also expanded to renting many trailers from them over the years. They are always so good to us and our extended family! I just talked with George 4 weeks ago when I stopped in the office to pay for a load of firewood. He always had a warm smile, friendly greeting and firm handshake. I'll never forget him sitting at that desk! Mary and all the family, we are truly sorry for your loss and please know that your are in our thoughts and our prayers. Dave Stegink

It was so easy to have a pleasant conversation with George. He was a kind man. I would seek him out, whether in the office or up on the hill. He would break away from what he was doing and give me the smile. I believe he graced our world with his presence.

Our sincere sympathies to Mary, Tiffany, Ryan and the entire Matelski family.

I am truly sorry for your loss, please accept my sincere condolences. I hope the Matelski family will find some comfort and strength in Jesus promise of the earthly resurrection (Acts 24:15, John 5:28, 29) and the renewed Paradise earth, where death is an enemy (1 Corinthians 15:26) that will very soon be eleminated forever, and no family will mourn the death of a loved one (Revelation 21:3,4). This promise has been given by Almighty God Jehovah (Psalms 83:18). Truly, what a glorious and almost unbelievable day that will be! It's a reality though for God cannot lie (Titus 1:2). For more comforting and encouraging scriptures on the resurrection, please visit www.jw.org.
