Grace Mary Jean Crump, 79

Longtime area resident and loving mother, Grace Crump passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Villa by the Bay. 

Grace's life will be honored and remembered during a funeral service that will take place at Stone Funeral Home on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., the service will be led by Rev. David Behling and interment will be in Pleasantview Cemetery.  Visitation will take place on Friday from 9:30-11:00 a.m.

Grace was born at home on January 18, 1938 in Pleasantview Township to Fred and Rhoda (Caywood) Werden.  She was a graduate of Alanson High School, Class of 1957.

In all things, Grace placed her primary focus on the needs of her children, 6 sons and 1 daughter.  She was kind and generous to a fault and loved all of her grandchildren with all of her heart.  Her health and personal struggles over the last several years were difficult, but she faced them with courage and strength; and it is this courage and strength of character that will be her legacy to the family she so dearly loved.  Grace is survived by her children, Albert of Alanson, Dennis of Alanson, Katherine of Cheboygan, Martin of Petoskey, William (Mary) of East Jordan, and Mark of Petoskey.  Also surviving are her grandchildren, Kelly, Ross, Andrew, Monique, Payton, Koda, Daniel, Miriam and Ava, her brothers, George and Sam Werden and sisters Ida Pfeffer and Rhoda Marihugh, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  Grace was sadly preceded in death by her son, John on October 17, 2016.  She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Tom and Joseph Werden and her sister, Wilma Morrow.
