Helen Irene (Norton) Clark

Helen Irene Clark, 95, died peacefully at home Saturday Feb. 23 with family by her side. She was born March 4th 1923 to William and Mary (George) Norton in her home of 95 years in Harbor Springs, MI.

Mother grew up in Harbor Springs and graduated from Harbor Springs High School. She met her husband Jack Clark from Carp Lake at a dance at Brutus town hall. After Jack served in the Anny they married in Holy Childhood Catholic Church in 1946. Mother is survived by her children: Jack, Jill (Dan) Backus, Jim (Rochelle) Joel (Carol) Mary (Monty) Holliday, and Jeff (Ann); Grand-children: Theresa, Justin, Stacey, Gabe, Hayley, Ashley, Keith, Christi, Matt, and Maria. Great grand-children: Ben, Evelyn, Colt, Destri, Madalynn, Collyn, and Ashlynn. Sister-in-law and dear friend Bonnie Cadwell and many nieces and nephews.

Mother was preceded in death by her husband Jack in 1995 son Jerry 1977 parents William and Mary Norton, brothers George, Alfred, Sister Marion Cook.

Mother loved to play cards with family and neighbors, cook for her family and donate time to the church she was so devoted to her entire life, especially the thrift shop in the basement of Holy Childhood School.  She loved to donate time helping make quilts with her friends of the Grange.  On many occasions she helped the Saint Ann's Alter Society and Bay Bluffs with special occasions and lunches.  She worked with many local Business's in Harbor Springs one of which was the Graphic.

Mom would let anyone in her house.  You were a stranger only once.

The family would like to thank Ann and Nancy for all there special care and love that They shared with Mom.

Visitation will be Thursday May 2nd at Holy Childhood Church 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM Followed by the Rosary at 7:30 PM.  A memorial Mass will be held on Friday May 3rd at Holy Childhood Church at 11:00 AM with visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass.  Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery
