Helen Seamon, 90 of Petoskey, passed Sunday December 3, 2017 at Hiland Cottage.

Helen was born August 29, 1927 in Boyne City to Clinton and Maude (Snook) Hammond, she grew up in Boyne City and was a graduate of Petoskey High School, Class of 1945.On January 28, 1946 she married Roger L. Seamon in Petoskey, where they settled and raised their family. Helen had five children, three of whom survive her. She was a loving mother who always did her best to place the needs of her children first. She was a skilled cook and baker and for many years enjoyed knitting, crochet and ceramics. Her faith was an important component of her life, she was a longtime member of Word of Life Church in Petoskey.

Her family plan to remember and honor her life during a funeral service that is planned for 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Stone Funeral Home; Pastor John Alexandrowski of Word of Life Church will officiate. Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Stone Funeral Home. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband Roger, and by two of her sons, David and Michael. She was also preceded in death by brother Bud Hammond and by her sister Maude "Pudge" Zagata. She is survived by her son Roger (Jody) Seamon, daughter Cheryl Wilkinson and son Tim (Linda) Seamon, by her grandchildren Taunya (Travis) Behn, Trisha (Ed) Mitchell, Taylor Seamon, Keith (Ashley) McCall, Brandi (James) Lucas, Kyle Dakers, Darren Dakers, Jodi (Dennis) Bruce, Michael (Danette) Seamon, Jackie(Tim) Wakefield, Timothy Seamon, and Janiece Seamon, as well as 33 great and great-great grandchildren.

Helen's family have asked that those wishing to remember her, choose to do so through a charitable donation to Hiland Cottage or to a Veterans Charity of choice.
