Ina Bennett Obituary

Ina Irene Bennett, 84 of Pellston, died January 11, 2019 at Hiland Cottage Hospice House.

Ina was born May 17, 1934 in Empire, Michigan, the daughter of Willard and Martha Wickham. She was the youngest of nine children.

On January 3, 1951, she married Gordon Bennett in Good Hart, Michigan. Together, they raised a family of seven children in Pellston. Ina enjoyed playing BINGO at the Friendship Center and going on shopping trips with friends. She was a collector of music boxes and antique tea pots for many years. Her hope was she would someday have a collection large enough to gift one music box to each of her grandchildren, and a tea pot to all of her children. Ina also liked to care for her many beautiful flowerbeds with the assistance of her daughters.

Ina is survived by her husband of 68 years, Gordon Bennett; children, Al Bennett of Charlevoix, Thelma Jurek of Pellston, Dale (Patricia) Bennett of West Chapel, FL.. Kathy Bennett of Indian River, Sheila (Jim) Melke of Charlevoix; 15 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; brother, Frank Wickham of Ravenna, Michigan; son-in-laws, Peter Yarch and Norbert Lechowicz; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her daughters, Rita Yarch and Ruby Lechowicz; granddaughter, Melissa Bennett; son-in-law, Eugene Jurek; and seven siblings.

There will be a visitation on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at Stone Funeral Home in Petoskey. Funeral service will be on Thursday, January 17, at 11:00 a.m.
