Iris Parrott, 70, of Indian River, passed away early morning November 15th after a long battle with illness. Iris was born to Harry and Lucille Boughner in Grayling on August 29th, 1948. She was raised in Sparr and graduated from Gaylord High School and received her Associates in Accounting from Alpena Community College.
On April 12, 1969, she married John Parrott and they lived in Indian River for 49 years. John and Iris raised their nephew, Jason, and daughter, Sara and were blessed with seven grandchildren.
In 2010, Iris retired from her home income tax and accounting business after 32 years. She also served on the Inland Lakes School Board for many years. She loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
Iris is survived by her husband John, her children: Jason (Shawnia) Parrott and Sara (Jake) Wasylewski and her grandchildren: Shianne, Jeremiah, Joshua, Isaac, Emma, Noah and Oliver. She is also survived by her brothers, Donald (Phyllis) and Thomas (Barbara) Boughner and many other friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Lucille Boughner.
Services will be held at Lintz Funeral Home on Monday, November 19, 2018. Visitation will begin at 1pm with a memorial service at 2:30pm. A luncheon will immediately follow at the Mullett Township Hall in Topinabee.
