Janice Harvey, 90
Lifelong area resident Janice Harvey of Hayes Township, sadly passed from this life Wednesday, February 7, 2018 only three weeks following the death of her husband, James.
Her family plan to remember and celebrate her life during a memorial service that is planned for Tuesday, February 13th at 11:00 a.m. Her family will begin receiving friends at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Her life began on January 19, 1928 in Petoskey, with her birth to Henning and Florence (Jones) Johnson. She grew up in rural Petoskey and attended the Curtiss Country Grade School near Pickerel Lake she was also a graduate of Petoskey High School. On August 6, 1955 she married James Harvey and together they made their home in Hayes Township. Janice and James raised two daughters, Paula and Lisa. Lisa preceded her parents in death on December 16, 1996.
Janice worked for Parker Motor Freight and Penn Dixie Cement Company in the area of accounting and sales. For many years she also served Trinity Missionary Church as office secretary. She was a wonderful wife and mother who maintained a loving home. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and reading and camping.
Surviving Janice is her daughter Paula (David) Wager and her grandchildren, Jennifer (Glenn) Armock, Keisha Wager, Kristie Harrington and Brent (Kaeli) Wager, and great grandchildren, Caiden Wager, Isaiah and Zachary Armock.. She is also survived by her in-laws, Alice Harvey and Otto (Barbara) Harvey. Including her husband James and her daughter Lisa, Janice was also preceded in death by her parents. Those wishing to honor her memory with a charitable contribution are asked to consider Trinity Missionary Church.
