Jay Jansen Obituary

Jay P. Jansen, 61, of Levering, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2020 at McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey.

A resident of the area since 1982, moving from Parma, Ohio, Jay was born June 8, 1958 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Stanley and Joann (Blickensderfer) Jansen. After moving here, he was employed at Petoskey Plastic’s, retiring in 2017 after over 30 years of service. Jay enjoyed watching NASCAR events, and professional football, especially the Cleveland Browns.

Jay is survived by a brother, Jon (Renee’) Mallory of Parma, Ohio, and a sister, Julie Mallory of Levering, three nieces, two nephews, three great nieces, and two great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Jennifer Saksa.

No services are planned at this time.

Memorials may be made to McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey.
