Jerry B Tippett

Jerry Benjamin Tippett passed away on November 1, 2018 at Bay Bluffs. He was born on January 12, 1933 in Stutsmansville, Michigan, the son of Robert and Eunice "Sarah" Tippett.

Jerry attended several one-room school houses north of Harbor Springs before graduating from Harbor Springs Public School in 1952. Jerry was a lifelong resident of Harbor Springs and was very active in the community. He coached the Little League Baseball and Women's Fast Pitch Softball teams for many years. He also served 14 years on the Harbor Springs School Board including several years as acting Board President. In his spare time, Jerry enjoyed deer hunting in Northern Michigan with his sons, brothers and nephews.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Wilma (Gregory) Tippett; his children, sons, Steve (Kari) Tippett and Craig Tippett both of Kentwood, Michigan and his daughters, Jaci (Tom) Gallagher and Kathi (Bob Wilson) Tippett both of Harbor Springs; seven grandchildren, Stephanie (Tippett) Olson, Erin (Tippett) Medley, Emily (Tippett) Frisbie, Trevor Tippett, Greg Gallagher, Heather (Tippett) Peshl, and Dana (Kuncaitis) Rouse; six great-grandchildren; and many wonderful nieces, nephews and friends.

Jerry is preceded in death by his eight brothers, John, Horace (Veda), Fred (Arlene), Paul (Evelyn), Jim (Marian), George (Margaret), Marion (Merlyn), Carl (Agnes) and his two sisters, Ellen (Leslie) Schreier and MaryBelle (Arnold) Gregory.

Jerry adored his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be greatly missed by all.

Arrangements were handled by Stone Funeral Home.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in Jerry's name may be directed to a charity of your choice.
