Joan Janack

Joan Janack, age 86 of Boyne City passed away peacefully September 12, 2019 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions in Traverse City.  Joan was a loving and caring mother, foster mother and wife.

Joan loved her yard, flowers and playing Bingo.  She worked until she was eighty-four.  Joan owned a shoe store with her husband Jake, Jakes Shoe Shop; drove a school bus earning a nickname of “large Marge” then went onto work as a Greeter at Meijer.

Surviving Joan is her daughter Doreen Cousins; son Randy Janack and foster son Erik Kurchinski.

A funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at St. Matthews Church in Boyne City with a visitation being held from 10:00 AM until the time of service.  Fr. Dennis Stilwell will be serving as celebrant.  Burial will take place at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Boyne City.
