John Barrette

John M. Barrette, 74, of Cheboygan, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017 at McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey.

John was born July 13, 1942 in Cheboygan, the son of George and Margaret (Shields) Barrette.  In July, 1962, he married Roxy Enos.  John was employed by Barrette Construction for nearly 60 years, and enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, following the Detroit Tigers and Nascar, and was a member of the Jack Pine Saddle Club.

Surviving are his wife, Roxy, his children, Greg (Sherrie) Barrette, and Brian (Christina) Barrette, his brothers, Jerome (Thorma) Barrette and Ron (Shar) Barrette, and a sister, Carol (Dale) Heilman, seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren, dear close family, Chuck (Shar) Landrie and Randy (Laura) Enos, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Jeffery Scott Barrette, two brothers, Don and Howard Barrette, and two sisters, Dorothy McKervey and Elaine McKervey.

Cremation has taken place.

A memorial service will be Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 1:00pm at the Cheboygan Eagles, with a luncheon immediately following.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
