John H. Jerichow

John H. Jerichow, 93 of Harbor Springs, passed away peacefully in his home of 83 years on May 16, 2018.

John was born on December 29, 1924, the son of Herman and Edna (Vermilya) Jerichow in Charlevoix, Michigan.

John married Alice Scherrer on December 1, 1951.  They enjoyed fiddler jamborees and dancing.  After John retired the dairy farm, they would take weekend trips to the Upper Peninsula to take in all the beautiful waterfalls.  They had many wonderful years together until Alice passed away on August 11, 2003.

John enjoyed holidays with his family, from the 4th of July picnics in his backyard to making popcorn balls for Christmas and celebrating birthdays.  We could almost always find John outside working in his garden or mowing his lawn, and when he wasn’t doing that, he was “fixing” something.

John is survived by his children, Janet Boge of Mt. Pleasant, Bob (Chris) Jerichow of Good Hart, and Scott Jerichow of Cross Village; 4 grandsons, Joshua Boge, Vincent Jerichow, Bradley Jerichow, and Nathan Jerichow; 3 great-grandchildren, Keith, Keygan, and Lillian Jerichow; and by a sister, Thelma Bennett.

Private family services will be held.

Arrangements are in the care of the Schiller Funeral Home of Harbor Springs.
