Josephine Rose (Skop) Utley

Josephine Utley of Boyne Falls, MI passed away March 11, 2019. She was born on December 8, 1926 to Joseph and Olga Skop. She grew up in Boyne Falls and stayed until she moved to Detroit during the war. She worked in a plant making parts for the B-24 bomber.  After the war she meet her husband Paul. They lived in Detroit until the 70’s when they moved back to Boyne Falls, where they helped raise three of their grandchildren. Josephine was also an active member of her church for many years.

Josephine was preceded in death of her parents and her husband Paul Utley, brothers Steve and Metro, sisters Stella and Helen.

She is survived by a sister Jennie Matthews; sons Charles (Ranae), Paul Michael (Denise Rickabus), William (Liz); grandchildren Tim, Jen, and Adam (Kayla), Billy (Brittany) Utley, Jessica (Brad) Yoder and Jeremiah Utley; great-grandchildren Owen, Landon, Ava Rose Utley and Kayleigh and Colton Yoder.

A funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, March 16, 2019 at St. Augustine Church in Boyne Falls with a visitation being held Saturday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service.  A luncheon will be served following the service.
