July 1, 1952 ~ May 10, 2019 (age 66)

Julianne Ager, 66 of Harbor Springs, died May 10, 2019 at her home.

Julianne was born on July 1, 1952 in Ishpeming, MI, the daughter of Ronald and Maria (Waisanen) Hiltunen and was raised in Alston, MI.  She graduated from L’Anse High School and then attended and graduated from Michigan Tech with a Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology.  She served her internship at Hurley Hospital in Flint before moving to the Emmet County and going to work in the Lab at the Little Traverse Hospital, now McLaren Northern Michigan.  She continued to work there for 38 years before she retired.

On July 1, 1978, Julianne married the love of her life, Frederick Ager in Alston, MI and the two made their home in Harbor Springs.

She enjoyed watching old movies and was a regular at Curves, attending 3 times a week.  Julianne was quiet but always had a great sense of humor.  She was always very caring and very religious.  She was always there for those in need and religiously prayed every morning for those in need, even if she didn’t know them personally.

Julianne loved life and loved to travel. She was a 21 year survivor of a brain tumor and as such, was active with the Walk of Life here in Petoskey.  She helped setup and run it, as well as attended all of their survivor dinners.

She is survived by her husband, Frederick; 2 children, Chris Ager of Owosso and Tamara (Randy) McCracken of Freeland; 5 grandchildren, Andrew Ager, Austin Ager, McKensey (Josh) Fulton, Darby McCracken, and Peri McCracken; 3 great grandchildren, Vera, Remi, and Indy; 2 siblings, Mark Hiltunen and Elise Vagart; and by many nieces and nephews.
