June Grace (Kuhlman) DeLaney

June Grace Delaney, 88, formerly of Big Rapids and Boyne City, died June 15, 2017 at her home in Harbor Springs, MI.June was born June 5, 1929, the daughter of William and Grace Gail (Cline) Kuhlman. June moved from Brainerd, MN. in 1948 to Petoskey, MI. She married Royce Edward DeLaney on January 23, 1950. June worked at Rheinhardt’s Store in Petoskey, then Carey Oil for many years in Boyne City. They raised their children in Boyne City until 1976 when Royce and June moved to Big Rapids, MI. until 2015 then resided in Harbor Springs.

She was an avid bowler and gardener and enjoyed canning foods from her garden. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary of Big Rapids.

June is survived by her husband of 67 years, Royce DeLaney; her children, Steven (Monica) DeLaney, Kathy (Tim) DeLaney-Jones and Tamara (Paul Gough) DeLaney; grandchildren, Heather (Alex) Costas, Heidi (Kyle) Mellema and Stephanie (Marty) Vance; great grandchildren, Andru and Brandon Costas, Delaney and Mason Mellema and Thomas Vance; and her sister, Doris Peterson. She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings, Marjorie Waltz, Birdeva Allen, Darlene Frey, Bill Kuhlman and Leo Kuhlman.

There will be a memorial service at Stackus Funeral Home in Boyne City, MI on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with a one hour visitation prior to the service. Pastor David Behling will officiate.
