Kari Beth Leonard, 57, of Petoskey, died July 4, 2018.
Kari was born on April 3, 1961 in Fremont, Michigan, the daughter of Edward and Thelma (Ensing) Ditlow. At a young age, the family moved to Charlevoix where Kari grew up and attended school. She took classes at North Central Michigan College in Petoskey and earned her degree in Accounting.
On July 24, she married Robert Leonard in Charlevoix. Together, they owned and operated R&K Dedicated Services, Inc. for six years.
Kari was talented in crafting, everything from painting, papier-mâché, and cake decorating; there was not a single craft she couldn't master. She was extremely interested in family history and genealogy. And recently, Kari took up canning and excelled at that as well.
Family was her number one pride and joy. She cherished the name her grandchildren gave her, "Buckah", and loved spending every moment with them.
Kari is survived by her husband, Robert Leonard of Petoskey; children, Heather Stewart, Megan Stewart and William (Bella) Leonard, all of Petoskey; grandchildren, Carter Stewart and Margaret Leonard; parents, Thelma and Edward Ditlow; and siblings, Kurt (MaryGrace) Ditlow of Williamsburg, MI, Kip (Barbara) Ditlow of Eastport, MI, and Kyle (Vince) Harr of Cypress, TX.
A private family service has taken place but for those wishing to make a charitable donation in Kari's memory, please consider Hospice of Northwest Michigan.
