Lester Lee McGeorge

Lester Lee McGeorge, age 80 of Boyne City passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital.

Lester was born on February 3, 1937 in Boyne City the son of Harland and Lillian (Giffin) McGeorge and grew up in Boyne City.  He served four years in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Italy, while in Italy Lester learned how to run the grader and heavy equipment.  Lester worked for Courters in Boyne City and later worked thirty-five years for the Charlevoix County Road Commission.  He enjoyed model aviation and going to the airshows in Oshkosh; spending time in his garden, flowers and feeding the birds.  Lester also enjoyed bowling and was on the Northland Tobacco Company bowling team.

Lester is survived by his wife Caroline; children Clark (Kim), Bruce (Kammi), Brian (Wendy) and Leslee (Kent) Warner; twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; sister Esther Hudson and brother Edgar Snyder.

He is preceded in death by his parents Harland and Alvira McGeorge and Lillian and Lawrence Snyder; and brother Calvin Synder.
