Louis Paul Gendernalik, 75 of Southfield and Indian River, MI passed away on September 13, 2018 at his home in Indian River.
Louis was born on June 18, 1943 in Detroit, MI the son of Frank Gendernalik and Virginia Moeller. He grew up in Royal Oak, attended high school at St. Mary's High School and went on to earn his PhD at the University of Detroit. On December 12, 1970 he married Rosita Barona at the University of Detroit Chapel. Louis enjoyed collecting Inuit Art, reading Sci-Fi, playing computer games, and helping his wife process pottery. In their younger years he and his wife enjoyed vacationing in Canada and camping.
Louis is survived by his wife Rosita Gendernalik, brothers Frank Gendernalik and Joseph (Patricia) Gendernalik, nieces and nephews Lynn (Rick) Schrage, Deborah (David) Spak, and Michael Gendernalik. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister-in-law, Sharon Gendernalik.
Services for Louis will be announced at a later date .Anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution in memory of Louis should consider the Inuit Art Foundation in Canada.
