Louise Waryas, 76 of Cheboygan passed away on August 31, 2018 at McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey.
Louise was born on August 16, 1942 in Detroit, MI the daughter of Thomas Sorrells and Ruby Pearl (Trowbridge) Sorrells. She grew up in Oak Park, MI and Berkley, MI, and attended school at Oak Park Public Schools. Louise earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Wayne State University and a Master’s Degree from Oakland University. On August 18, 1964 she married Robert Waryas in Oak Park, MI, the couple was married for 54 years. During her working career, Louise was a teacher at Romeo Public Schools for at risk students. Louise enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling, cooking, and entertaining company. She volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and the Task Force at St. Mary’s/St. Charles Catholic Church in Cheboygan.
Louise is survived by her husband Robert, children Douglas Robert (Karen) Waryas and Thomas Paul (Betty) Waryas and one granddaughter Lia Grace Waryas. She was preceded in death by her parents and her step mother Marie Sorrells.
Services for Louise will take place on Wednesday, September 5th, 2018 at St. Mary’s/St. Charles Catholic Church in Cheboygan. Visitation will take place from 10am-12pm, with the funeral taking place at 12pm. There will be a luncheon to follow.
