Lucinda "Cindy" (Eddy) Phillips

Lucinda “Cindy” Eddy Phillips, 69, of Cheboygan, went to be with the Lord on February 27, 2018 after battling many long term illnesses.

Cindy was born in Cheboygan on January 16, 1949 to her parents, Lyle and Fern “Peggy” (Thompson) Eddy.   A lifelong resident of Cheboygan, she was a 1967 graduate of Cheboygan Catholic High School.  During her high school years, she worked at Barnich Drugs and later as a secretary/office clerk for B & C Supermarkets for many years.  On March 26, 1988 in Cheboygan, she married Michael Phillips and became an immediate “mom” to his three children, Michael, Holly, and Melissa.  She was very close to her stepchildren and shared in their accomplishments and provided her loving support to them in everything they did.  She was very proud of being a stepmom and was instrumental in contributing to their success. Her love and care was always available when they needed it. Her “children” will miss her very much.  She was a truly wonderful mom.  Cindy also had many friends in the area and truly enjoyed talking to them on a daily basis.  In fact, her most enjoyable “hobby” was visiting with her friends on the phone, especially her very close friends, Marilyn McCready and Kathi Doe.  Her other hobbies included bingo, cards, and housekeeping.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018, from 4:00pm-7:00pm, with a scripture service beginning at 6:00pm, at the Nordman-Christian Funeral Home in Cheboygan.  The funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at noon, with the family greeting friends beginning at 11:00am, at St. Mary/St. Charles Catholic Church in Cheboygan.  Rev. Duane Wachowiak will officiate, burial will be at Pinehill Cemetery in the spring, and will be announced prior to the service.
