Mark E. Berry, 49, Gaylord, passed suddenly of natural causes on January 5, 2020 in Boyne City.
Mark was born on September 8, 1970, in Traverse City. He grew up in Boyne City and graduated High School in 1989. He lived in Gaylord most of his adult life where he was an avid member of Grace Baptist Church and enthusiastically worked at Crossroads Industries. He loved Summer Day Camp, Friday night community dinners, singing karaoke, coloring, word search puzzles, and writing letters to loved ones. He took pride in educating and advocating for his rare genetic disorder, Prader-Willi Syndrome. He was immediately a friend with anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him and will be immensely missed by all.
Mark is preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Hunt, and his father, Willard Berry. He is survived by his dad, Robert Hunt; sisters Beverly, Toni, Cathy, Christy, and Charlene; his brother Rob; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Marks greatest joy in life was to be surrounded by loved ones and he was blessed with two large and loving families – his biological and AFC families.
There will be a Karaoke Celebration of Life (in true Mark fashion) held at the Boyne City Eagles Club on Saturday, February 8, 2020 from noon until 5 pm to share photos, stories, and songs.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made in Mark’s honor to Prader-Willi Syndrome Association of Michigan, 2620 Hawley Road, Leslie, MI 49521.
