Mary Jane Blondin passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 27, 2018.
Mary was born January 11, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan to Howard and Clarabell Shappee, the oldest of their nine children.
She lived over 60 years in Sparta, Michigan and most recently at Mallard Cove in Petoskey. She loved her garden and flowers. She was an avid knitter and quilter, but her greatest love was sharing her life with her children and grandchildren. She was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Sparta.
She is survived by her son Stephen (Rose) Blondin of Rockford, Michigan; daughter Jane (Russ) Bock of Petoskey; and son Thomas (Tracy) Blondin of Gloverville, South Carolina; grandchildren, Jamie (Brian), Danielle (Tony), Jason (Jessica), Aaron (Bekah), Jenica, Felicia (Jeff), Heather (Mario), Angela, and their mother Charlene; great grandchildren Isayah, Anthony, Karlie, Sawyer, Vyera, Milina, Axel, Cullen, Brecken, Mila and Jackson; two brothers, Edward and Robert; and sister, Betty.
She is preceded in death by her beloved son James; sisters Sally and Peggy; brothers, Bill, Earl and Joe; and by her parents.
A Memorial Mass will take place Saturday, January 5 at St. Francis Xavier Church in Petoskey at 11:00 a.m. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Those wishing to honor Mary’s memory are asked to have Masses said at the Holy Family Catholic Church of Sparta, MI or St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church of Petoskey, MI.
