Nannette Carpenter, 70 of Boyne city, passed away May 29 at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Nan was born August 1, 1948 in Charlevoix the daughter of Ethan and Dora (Derenzy) Edson.
Nan always put family first. Along with spending time with her family, she enjoyed gardening especially in her flower beds, camping, trips to her daughter’s house in Flint, going to the casino on occasion and being home with her fur babies Henry and Grace.
Nan was very affectionately known as “Aunt Nan” to many who knew her. She always had an open door, ear to listen and a hot meal for anyone in need. Nan was kind and compassionate beyond measure. She had a quick and witty sense of humor that touched everyone who met her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years Jack of Boyne city, daughter Jill of Flint, Brother Bryan (Vicki) Edson of Indian River, Brother in law Kevin (Kathy) Carpenter of Arizona, Niece Kelly Knight of Traverse City, Nephew Aaron (Julie) Knight of South Bend, IN, Amy (Dave) O’Connor of Beverley Hills, Nephew Josh Carpenter of Arizona, Niece Kristy (Shawn) Campbell of West Virginia, Nephew Adam Knight of Indian River, nieces Angie Knight of Indian River and Apryl Falcon of Arizona and nephew Ryan Edson of Indian River.
She was proceeded in death by her daughter Jacquelyn, parents, Sister Cindy and nephew “Eddie Boy”.
A memorial will be held 11:00 AM Saturday June 8, 2019 at the First Presbyterian Church in Boyne City with a gathering of family and friends being held from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
