Oscar J. Overholt

Oscar J. Overholt, age 76, currently of Cheboygan but a longtime resident of Levering, and passed away Monday, August 27, 2018 at Hiland Cottage in Petoskey. He was born December 1, 1941 in Petoskey, the son of Lee and Bessie (Furguson) Overholt. He graduated from Pellston High School in 1960 and married Flossie Cummings on July 7, 1962 in Petoskey.

Oscar had worked as a bus mechanic and school bus driver for Pellston Schools for over 20 years all the while working his farm in Levering. He was also a member of the Carp Lake Fire Department for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Flossie of Cheboygan, four children, Greg (Pam Bur) Overholt of Levering, Jody (Brandy) Overholt of Levering, Melissa (Gordon) Burns of Hudsonville and Rodger Overholt of Cheboygan, eight grandchildren, Nicollette, Kyle, Christopher, Jenna, Tristan, Aidan, Zander and Corbin and three great grandchildren, Sierra, Eliza and Linnea. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Nancy Gokey and Deborah Reed.

No services are planned at this time. Arrangements are being handled by the Nordman-Christian Funeral Home.
