Patrick Asa Lally of Boyne City, Michigan passed away July 15, 2018. Pat was born on St Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1932 in Hartford, Connecticut and spent his childhood in Ortonville, Michigan. He graduated from Florida Military Academy in 1949 and served in United States Army and Korean War. Upon his discharge, he moved to Flint, Michigan where he met his beautiful bride, Carolyn Gettel. Pat was the founder and proud owner of Pat Lally’s House of Color paint and wallpaper store in Pontiac, Michigan for 37 years and retired to Boyne City, Michigan where he turned his passion for boating into a second career as a successful yacht broker. Pat was the founder of the Clinton River Ski Club, founding member of the Boyne City Yacht Club, a 50-year member of the United States Power Squadron, member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Moslem Shrine Yacht Club, and Clinton River Boat Club. Survivors include his wife of 63 years Carolyn, daughters Sarah (Joe) Wolf, and Patty (Rob) Aldrich, grandchildren Hannah and Elisabeth Wolf, and Robert and Annie Aldrich. Pat made countless friends throughout his life and will always be remembered for his fun-loving spirit. Remember Pat’s life on St Patrick’s Day as another cause for celebration.
Services will be held at 1pm (preceded by visitation from Noon-1pm) on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at St Matthew Church in Boyne City, Michigan.
