Paul Frederick "Fred" Gross, Jr., of Petoskey, died August 21, 2019 at his home, surrounded by family at the age of 66.
Fred was born on July 16, 1953, in Fort Gordon, Georgia, the oldest of seven children, to Paul Gross, Sr. and Carol (Adams) Gross.
Fred worked at Great Lakes Pipe and Supply installing and selling HVAC systems for many years until his recent retirement. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and cooking over an open fire.
For the last two years, Fred fought his battle with cancer and he fought like hell. Fred is survived by his wife of 45 years, Paula Gross; many children and grandchildren; and lots of extended family members.
He never cared for funerals, so instead his family has decided to have a celebration of his life at their home (1166 East Gruler Road, Petoskey, 49770) on Saturday, August 24, 2019 from 2-4 p.m.
In the words of Ted Nugent and his favorite song "Fred Bear", his family will find comfort knowing "in the wind he's still alive".
