Peter Huyck

Peter James Huyck, age 71, of Cheboygan, formerly Livonia, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018.

Peter was born July 21, 1946 in Detroit, to the late Edward and Hattie (Szymoniak) Huyck.

He is survived by his wife, the former Vickie Berden, loving brother to Edward (Kathy) Huyck, and the late Rodney Huyck, dear father to Michael (Kathryn) Huyck and Jennifer Huyck.  Grandfather to Michael, Jacob, Garrett, Callen, Emilia, Devin and Abby.  Stepfather to Matthew and Amy Berden, uncle to Kristen (Peter) Santoyo and Casmir Huyck, son in law to Shirley Neelis, brother in law to Debbie (Dave) Berden, Karen (Chris) Serra, Becky (Sam) Beck, Tina Umbarger, Peggy Neelis, Greg Neelis, Mike Neelis, and Todd Neelis, and uncle to several nieces and nephews. 

Peter served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, from 1963-1967, and is a veteran of the Vietnam War.  He is a retired iron worker with Local #25 out of Detroit, and he enjoyed mostly spending time with his family and friends, playing golf, fishing, cooking and woodworking.

He will be remembered by his many loving friends and family for his amazing wit and his genuine presence, and will be greatly missed.  Semper Fidelis.

Per his wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date.
