Peter J Spencley Sr.

Peter J. Spencley Sr., 72, of Charlevoix, Michigan, died August 5, 2019 at his home in Charlevoix.

Peter was born August 3, 1947 in Petoskey, Michigan. The son of Roy and Edna (Holmes) Spencley, Peter grew up in Petoskey and attended school at Petoskey High School, class of 1965.

On August 25, 1990 he married Sharon Heeres in Charlevoix.

Peter loved to sit around a campfire and make the best ribs around. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and gardening outside. He also liked to cook and watch Jeopardy.

Surviving Peter is his wife Sharon; his children: Sheila (Mike) Kelley of Alanson, Peter (Stacey) Spencley Jr. of Holland, Donald (Tracey) Spencley of Grand Rapids, and Heidi (Steve) Marvin of Frederica, Delaware; his grandchildren: Tyler, Miranda, Zach, Taylor, Kaitlyn, Allyson, Kevin, and Jennifer; his beloved dog Chole; his step-children: Pam Smith, Barb (Keith) Maxwell, and Steve Keysor; his step-grandchildren: Danielle, Bailey, Reid, Brian, Brent, Ryan and Ashlie; his siblings: Charles (Evelyn) Spencley, Thomas (Anna Mae) Spencley, Roger (Nancy) Spencley, and sister-in-law Angie Spencley.

Preceding Peter in death are his parents Roy and Edna Spencley; his sisters: Roslie Fitzpatrick and Dorothy Balliet; his brothers: Andrew Spencley and Richard Holmes; and his nephew Bobby Balliet.

A family memorial will be held on August 31, 2019. Peter will be buried at Bliss township cemetery.

The family has suggested those wising to make a charitable donation in Peter's memory can do so to a charity of their choice sent to Sheila Kelley at 6004 Hill Street, Alanson, MI 49706.
