Phoebe J (Nelson) Moore

Phoebe Jane Moore, 85 of Boyne City Michigan, died November 23, 2019 at Resthaven Care Center in Holland, Michigan. 

Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, November 29, 2019 at Stackus Funeral Home in Boyne City with a visitation being held from 1:00 PM until the time of service.  Pastor David Behling will be officiating and burial will be at Maple Lawn Cemetery. 

Phoebe was born on March 24, 1934 in Boyne City and was the daughter of Harley J and Gertie (St John) Nelson.  She grew up in the area and was a Boyne City graduate.  In later years she married Charles Joseph Moore in Mancelona, Michigan and together they resided in Boyne City. 

Phoebe's hobbies included baking, canning, and knitting.  She made countless afghans for family and friends.  The last few years she made hundreds of baby hats for Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey and Holland Hospital in Holland.  Phoebe was an avid baker who made the best bread, cookies, and pies. Grandma always had supplies of cookies whenever family came home for visits.  She also canned relentlessly during the fall season.   Phoebe worked at Boyne Products which later became United Technologies for 35 years.  She also went on to work at Glen's Supermarket as a cashier for a number of years. 

Survivors include children Lynda (Tom) Harris of Holland, Bruce (Jeanie) Nelson of Boyne City,    Gary Moore of Boyne City, Julie (Mick) Langdon of Mt. Morris.  Grandchildren include, Tommy, Rebecca, Amber, Christopher, Joseph, Jane, and Hillary.  Great grandchildren include, Chandler, Hailey, Paisley, Natalee, Lacey, and Nolin. 

Phoebe was preceded in death by her husband Charles and parents Gertie and Harley.
