Ralph W. Brown

Ralph W. Brown, 90, of Alanson passed away on September 27, 2017 at McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey.

Ralph was born on November 21, 1926 in Stuttgart, Arkansas. He grew up in Detroit and later relocated to Rogers City, MI in the early 1990's. On October 12, 1996 he married Joyce "Ione" Rautio in Alanson.

Ralph proudly served our country for four years in the United States Navy during WWII where he was a submariner. He was also proud of his civic duties that he served in Alanson. His community was very important to him. Ralph enjoyed bowling, golfing, and playing horseshoe. He also enjoyed watching Michigan Football, Tigers Baseball, and Redwings Hockey. He was a member at the Cross in the Woods Catholic Church in Indian River.

Ralph is survived by his wife Ione Brown, children Karen (Pat) Lause and Steven (Melody) Brown, grandchildren Sarah (Alan) and Samantha, a great-granddaughter Trinity, stepchildren James Rautio, Kathy (Errol) Beckett, Joseph (Joanna) Rautio, Lauren (Luis) Oxholm, Mary (James) Domagalski, 16 step-grandchildren, and 8 step-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and his stepchild John Rautio.

Services for Ralph will be held on Friday, October 6 at the Cross in the Woods Catholic Church, visitation beginning at 11am, funeral at 12pm.
