Richard “Dick” E. Robinson, 71, of Cheboygan, passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 in Astatula, Florida.
Dick was born February 20, 1947 in Lansing, Michigan, the son of Highland and Neva (Swarts) Robinson. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, spending 13 months in Vietnam. After his military service, he was employed by the State of Michigan, Liquor Control. After his retirement from the state, he was employed at the Do-It-Center in Indian River, and Standard Electric in Petoskey. He was an active member of the Cheboygan Sportsman’s Club, a life member of the VFW, a member of the NRA, and past member and president of the Twin Lakes Association. After his retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, Mert. Dick was also a master woodworker, building his log cabin and boat on Twin Lakes, and crafting furniture.
Surviving are his wife, Mareta “Mert” St. Germain-Robinson, stepdaughter, Renee (Mike) Adkins of Millington, two grandsons, Michael and Brandon, and great grandson, Jacob Tyler.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Karen, a sister, Sandra Robinson.
The family will greet friends on Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 11:00am until the time of the memorial service at 1:00pm, at the Nordman-Christian Funeral Home in Cheboygan. Rev. John Wallace will officiate, burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Sheridan, Michigan at a later date.
