Robert Stocker

Robert S. Stocker, 85 of Cheboygan, passed away on February 7, 2018 at McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey while in the company of his family.

Robert was born September 17, 1932 to the late Stanley and Matilda (Martin) Stocker.  He worked for Ford Motor Company for over 30 years in the Detroit area.  He enjoyed spending time reading, watching football, and keeping up on current events around the globe. Bob was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

He is survived by his second wife, Erma Shewchuck, his remaining six children (Michael Stocker, Mary Jo Peck, Patricia Stocker, Mark Stocker, Greg Michalek, Monica Jarrett, and John Stocker), his six step-children (Lori Queen, Michael Shewchuck, Ann Baker, Tricia Ladaga, Doug Shewchuck, and Jane Palmieri ), 23 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  

Bob’s cunning mind, sharp wit, and love for life will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Meg Michalek. 

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 12, 2018 at 11:00am, with visitation beginning at 10:00am, at St. Mary/St. Charles Catholic Church in Cheboygan.

Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield next to his first wife, Maureen Stocker.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
