Robert "Rocky" W. Wrocklage

Robert W. "Rocky" Wrocklage, age 92, of Indian River passed away Friday, April 14, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born February 17, 1925 in Maple Grove Twp., MI, the son of Mathias and Anna (Amman) Wrocklage. On October 27, 1951 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Chesaning, MI, Rocky married Joan Tithof. The two were married for 65 years.

Rocky enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1945. He had worked at the Cross in the Woods National Shrine and M&M Plumbing & Heating as a sheet metal worker. He enjoyed playing Euchre, watching Tiger baseball and going to the casino.

Besides his wife Joan, Rocky is survived by his three children, Fay (Gary) Vizina of Indian River, Debra (Gordon) Pearson of Brimley and Guy Wrocklage of Indian River, his sister-in-law, Marie Wrocklage of Chesaning, nine grandchildren, Josh (Shanna) Pearson, Brandi (Dean) Lock, Daryl Vizina, Andrea (Lee) Fayssoux, Stacy (Travis) Sparks, Nathan Eggers, Heather Wyatt, Jori (Kayla) Wrocklage and Jasmine Wrocklage and 12 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, nine brothers and two sisters.

The funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Cross in the Woods Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Haney, O.F.M. officiating.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the mass. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of the Straits or the Cross in the Woods Catholic Church. Arrangements are being handled by the Lintz Funeral Home.
