Scott Edward Stackus of Petoskey passed unexpectedly Wednesday, February 7, 2018.
Scott was born on September 2, 1963 the son of James and Eleanor Stackus. He was raised in Boyne City and graduated from Boyne City High School and proceeded to mortuary school, getting an associate’s degree in science. He then married Sarah Mathews and together had a son Aaron Stackus. Scott went on later in life to have another son, Payton Hensen and then a daughter Amber Stackus. He remarried in 1991 to the love of his life Linda Wilber. Scott and Linda had one more daughter, Tianna Stackus.
Scott loved skiing and sailing for over thirty-five years. He also enjoyed stock car racing, mud truck running and spending time with his kids and grandkids; they were his passions in life.
Scott is survived by his wife Linda Stackus; sons Aaron Stackus, Peyton Hensen; daughters Amber Stackus and Tianna Stackus; mother Eleanor Stackus; sisters Cheri Stackus, Leslee Wiltjer and Kelly Stackus; and brother Kevin Stackus.
He is preceded in death by his father James D. Stackus and brother Craig Stackus.
The family will always remember Scott saying, “Real Men Cry and Tough Guys Wear Pink.”
A memorial service will be held 7:00 PM Tuesday, February 13th at Stackus Funeral Home in Boyne City with a gathering of family and friends being held prior from 5:00 PM until the time of service.
