Thomas Kepsel, 88 of Alanson passed away on September 11, 2018 at his home.
Thomas was born on June 21, 1930 in Detroit, MI the son of Robert Kepsel and Isadell (Coddington) Kepsel. He grew up and attended school in Mount Clements, MI. On September 1, 1951 he married Carolynn Asch in Mount Clements. The couple moved to Indian River in 1953. Thomas was a dedicated family man. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, cooking, the Upper Peninsula and anything to do with the outdoors. He also enjoyed western movies and wheel of fortune as well as poker and going to the casino. Thomas liked driving truck, which he did for a living. He was a past volunteer firefighter and a past member of the Burt Lake Community Club. He was a member of the Burt Lake Christian Church.
Thomas is survived by his children Tamara (William) Kaminski, Leroy Kepsel, Wendy Keller, and Dori (Michael Martin) Grams, grandchildren Lizzi Kepsel, Tara Kaminski, Christopher Kaminski, James Kepsel, Chase Keller, Brooke Keller, Scott Grams, and Alexander Schmidt, siblings Leona Daniels and Arlene Bennett, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Carolynn Kepsel, his parents Robert and Isadell Kepsel, children Thomas (Suzette) Kepsel and Timothy (Sharon) Kepsel, grandson Thomas Dylan Kepsel and a brother Robert Kepsel.
Services for Thomas will take place on September 22, 2018 at the Burt Lake Christian Church. Visitation will be held from 10-11am, with a memorial service at 11am.
