Verna Pamp Obituary

Verna May Pamp, 74 of Harbor Springs, died October 14, 2018 at her home.

Verna was born on August 16, 1944 in Dryden, Ontario, the daughter of John and Bertha May (Troup) Thompson and moved to Harbor Springs at a young age with her mother, following her father’s death in 1950.  Verna graduated from Harbor Springs High School with the class of 1962 before attending and graduating from Montcalm Community College with her LPN Degree.  She went to work at the Gratiot Community Hospital in Alma before moving to Florida.  In summer of 2010, Verna returned to Harbor Springs, where she has resided since.

Verna loved to read and was a wonderful Christian woman who could sing, play the piano, and harmonize wonderfully.  She was a loving and attentive mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and will be missed by all those that knew her.

She is survived by 3 children, Marc Pamp, Craig “Buzz” Pamp, and Kelli Doerfler, and by their father, George Pamp, all of Harbor Springs; 6 grandchildren, Brianna, Caitlin, Liam, Jack, Nathan, and Lindsey; and by a great grandson, Lincoln.

A memorial service celebrating Verna’s life will be held on Monday, October 22nd at 2pm at the Main Street Baptist Church in Harbor Springs.  The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 1pm until the time of service.
