Walter T. York

Walter T. York, known as Butch to his sisters born April 13, 1959 in Detroit, MI to the late Walter & Marilyn York passed on December 31, 2018 joining his late wife Dawn Marie York. Walter is survived by five children, Cassandra 42, Walter Jr. 37, Deanna 36, Kristen 33 and Kevin 28. As well as nine grandchildren Anjelito, Sebastian, Tomas, Angelina, Michael-James, Yvette, Brandon, Nathaniel and Eric. Walter’s siblings, Cheryl (Bob), Suzanne, Gloria (Paul), Ruth, Marianne (Jess). His longtime girlfriend, Leanne Stocker. Also, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews from Petoskey MI to Detroit and all over.

Anybody that knew Walter knew how much he loved his family and his love for the Red Wings, Lions, Tigers and U of M college football. He brought so much love and happiness every time he was around. He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by many. His children invite anyone wanting to come say their farewell to Walter. Viewing will be held January 5th from 6-8pm and January 6th 11-2pm with services starting at 2pm at Stone Funeral Home in Petoskey MI.

Dad, we wasn’t ready to say goodbye so this is farewell. We love you so much and miss you more then ever. Rest peacefully until we meet again. Love, Your Children.
