Ward Mihelich, age 80 of Boyne City passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, August 14, 2019.
Ward was born on October 21, 1938 in Flint, MI, the son of Charles Ward and Mary (Dargis) Mihelich. He graduated from Walled Lake High School, served in the Army, and earned his Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Washtenaw Community College. On May 16, 1975, he married Janet Massey in Brighton, MI. Ward worked as a Designer/Draftsman for Chrysler, Ford, Fisher-Guide and Nissan. He loved fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, and karate.
He is survived by his children: Mariea Hayden, Dena Mihelich, Robert Myers and Drew Mihelich; grandchildren: Karissa Edie, Ashly Kovacs, Dorian Gordenier, Sara Hayden, Joshua Hayden, Jaden Mihelich, Dakota Mihelich, Gabriel Mihelich and Victoria Hankins; three great grandchildren; his niece, Marsha Mihelich, and nephews Damon Carrigan and Taj, Michael and Mark Mihelich.
He is preceded in death by his wife Janet Mihelich in 2015, his parents, and brothers, Tom and Tim "Peb" Mihelich.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Stackus Funeral Home with a gathering of family friends will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers; memorial donations may be directed in Wards name to Keryx in Community, Concord Academy of Boyne or Boyne Area Senior Center. Memorial may be dropped off or mailed to: 05725 Dutchman Bay Road, East Jordan, MI 49727.
The family would like to give a special "Thank you!" to Julia Higby, Misty Valentine, Theresa Verburg, Valinda Turner and her family for all of their help in making Ward's last years the best they could be.
