William Joseph Knapp

William "Bill" Joseph Knapp, 80, of Petoskey, Michigan, died June 19, 2018 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital.

Bill was born August 19, 1937 in Hazel Park, Michigan, the son of George and Nellie (Rostron) Knapp.

On April 28, 1978, he married Rosemary Flum. Together, they shared 40 happy years of marriage.

Bill worked in plumbing and heating his whole life, co-owning and running his company Trautmann and Knapp Plumbing and Heating with his partner and friend, John Trautmann.

Bill was very much an outdoorsman. He enjoyed gardening, berry picking, mushroom hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle. He liked to take his grandson, Kasey, and granddaughter's Justine and Sammie hunting, along with his brother, Ronnie. He loved all of his grandchildren dearly. His family will remember the delicious candies he made during Christmas time and for Ashley's bridal shower. He was talented in the kitchen, both with baking and canning.

Bill is survived by his wife, Rosemary Knapp; daughter, Knatalie (Tom) Stolt; granddaughter, Hayley; great granddaughter, Evelyn; daughter, Melissa (Randy) Wormell; granddaughters, Ashley and Amber; great granddaughter Ona; daughter, Marcy (Tim) Faylor; granddaughter, Justine; grandson, Michael; daughter, Carla (Rod) Wiltse; grandchildren, Tate, Drake, Birk, Kian, Sage, Zia and Heath; daughter, Laura (Scott) Ward; grandchildren, Kasey, Sammie and Allie; sisters, Christine (Frank) Hill, Mary (Steve) Knapp-Weiss, and Shirley Morris; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Nellie Synder; father, George Knapp; and brother, George Knapp; and by twin brothers, Reggie and Ronnie Knapp.

There will be a visitation at Stone Funeral Home on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday, June 23 from 12 noon until the time of service. Funeral service will be Saturday, at Stone Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery.
