William “Bill” Sarow, 71 of Indian River and previously of Saginaw, died October 9, 2017.

Bill was born on May 21, 1946 in Saginaw, MI, the son of Reinhard and Bettina (King) Sarow.  Bill grew up in Saginaw and received his Undergraduate Degree at the University of Michigan before being drafted into the military service during the 1960’s.  Bill proudly served his country in the US Army before returning home and to the University of Michigan where he received his MBA. 

On January 5, 1985, Bill married the love of his life, Maree Connor and the two made their home in Saginaw.  Bill went to work at the family car dealership in Saginaw, Sarow Sales and later Sarow Oldsmobile which he managed until he retired and moved to Indian River, MI.

Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing poker.  He loved nature and was a very kind and generous man, he will be greatly missed by all those that knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Maree; daughter Amy (Manuel) Sarow of Iowa; sister, Nancy (Robert) Sarow Sellers; and by a brother, Robert Sarow. 

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and by his daughter, Katherine (Kate) Sarow in 2014.

Funeral services celebrating Bill’s life will be held on October 19th at 11am at the Transfiguration Episcopal Church in Indian River.  The family will receive friends at the church from 10am until the time of service.  Bill will be laid to rest at the Oakwood Memorial Mausoleum in Saginaw.

Arrangements are in the care of the Stone Funeral Home of Petoskey.
