Adam Kennedy Obituary

Adam Joseph Kennedy

May 1, 1989 – May 31, 2025

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the untimely passing of Adam Joseph Kennedy of Harbor Springs, Michigan, on May 31, 2025. While our loss is profound, we take great comfort knowing Adam is now in the arms of Jesus.

Adam was born on May 1, 1989, in Ludington, Michigan, to John Joseph Kennedy and Angela Marie Ledwidge Readmond. He grew up in Harbor Springs, graduating from Harbor Springs High School, where he met the love of his life, Heidi Ward. They married on September 26, 2009, and together built a beautiful life full of love, laughter, and family.

Adam’s greatest pride and joy were his wife and children, Makayla and Noah. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He lived with a heart wide open—always putting others first, always ready with a helping hand or a quick-witted joke. His smile was infectious, his spirit generous, and his love fierce and unwavering.

Adam worked for two years at Dave Kring Chevrolet and had spent the last six years at the Harbor Springs Sewer Authority, where he formed deep friendships with coworkers who became like family—Kathy, Nick, David, Brad, Marcus, and Dustin among them.

A true people person, Adam was the life of every party. He brought laughter and light wherever he went, whether playing corn hole, coaching Little League, or making everyone feel like family. He had a passion for basketball, woodworking, hunting, fishing, raising pigs, fixing cars, and hydro dipping deer skulls. He loved smoking meat, hosting cookouts, and had a deep-rooted joy in the traditions of making maple syrup each March and apple cider in the fall.

He took great pride in coaching his son Noah’s baseball team and cherished every moment spent mentoring, encouraging, and simply being present for his kids and others.

Adam is preceded in death by his grandparents Gary Kent and Elizabeth Ledwidge.

He is survived by his loving wife, Heidi, and their two incredible children, Makayla and Noah; his mother Angie Readmond; sisters Amanda Copas and Ashley Kennedy; honorary grandparents Robert & Joyce Readmond and Ron & Becky Cease; in-laws Tim & Marie Ward; siblings-in-law Quintin & Kati Negley and Nate & Lisa Hopkins; nephew’s Maverick, Elliott, Dakota, Hayden, Gavin and Wyatt; nieces Sadie, Makenzie, Viana, Erica, and Amayila, extended family, and cherished friends.

Adam was the kind of man we all aspire to be—loving deeply, protecting fiercely, and bringing joy without asking for anything in return. To know Adam was to love him, and to be loved by him was to be truly blessed.

A close friend put it best: “Adam was truly a family man, a loyal friend, and a gentle soul with a heart of gold. He was one of the Lord’s angels on earth, and now he’s watching over us as our guardian angel in heaven.” As Adam might say with a grin, though it feels like “sumting wong,” rest assured there’s “nutting wong” now—he is home with the Lord, smiling that unforgettable smile, saving us all a spot in Heaven’s biggest cornhole tournament.

Adam’s legacy of love, laughter, and light will live on in all of us. He will be forever missed and always remembered.
