Alysa AnnMarie Erwin, 28, of Elmira, Michigan, passed away on September 1, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Daughter of David Sr. and Carly (Thompson) Erwin, Alysa was born on October 5, 1996, in Troy, Michigan. She grew up in Petoskey, Michigan, and attended Petoskey Public Schools.
Alysa loved to play softball, and go skiing and snowboarding. She also enjoyed two tracking and her Pomeranian dog named Bear.
Alysa was a beautiful soul. She was a real warrior and beat brain cancer using cannabis oil, though radiation damaged her brain. She never asked why and never had anything negative to say about anyone or anything. Alysa always found something to compliment about people and loved spending time with her family and friends.
She was a member of the Harbor Light Church.
Alysa is survived by her parents David and Carly Erwin; brothers David Erwin Jr. and Tyler Erwin; Great Great Papa Robert Dean Jackson (92); grandparents Rita and Bill Thompson, and Eva Erwin; nephew Landon Erwin; aunts Adrien Hlavin, Catina Conorman, Renee Duvall, and Jenna Hibbler; uncles Bryan Thompson, and Stephen Duvall; many cousins, godfather Darcy Pickarski; and special friends Trevor Fettig, Matt Gruler, Joey Helminiak, Morgan Bartz, and Alisha Erwin Simon.
She is preceded in death by her nephew Atlas Erwin.
Those wishing to make a charitable donation in Alysa’s memory are asked to consider her parents, David and Carly Erwin or The Little Traverse Bay Humane Society, where she loved to volunteer to help and play with the animals.
A celebration of life will be held at Hudson Township Hall in Elmira, Mi., on October 18th at 2:00PM.
