Angeline Spencley Obituary

Angeline Spencley of Levering, Michigan, died May 11,2025 at her home with her family at the age of 92. 

She was born May 22, 1932. She grew up in Flint, Michigan with her beloved sister Louise along with her Italian family and cousins. She started school speaking only Italian as a child. She attended Flint Northern and graduated from Hurley Nursing school as an LPN in 1954. 

She worked as a nurse in Flint, Michigan at St Joseph’s Hospital and for Dr. Kauffman for 16 years. 

She married Andrew J Spencley, the love of her life in 1952 and had six children which were the treasures of her life. In 1973 they moved to Levering and she worked for Burns Clinic for Dr. Joanne Mertz, Dr. Douglas Kinne and the Nurse Midwives until she retired in 1998.

Angie had an enormous love for people and especially family. She loved strongly and believed in forgiveness, kindness and compassion. She always had a huge smile for all and loved to laugh. Her faith was her strength throughout life. She believed strongly in God and her faith. She was a long time member of Saint Clement Catholic Church in Pellston, Michigan, and served on the alter society and Parish council. Angie was also the Queen Bee of the Red Hat’s Society, Red Hens. She loved playing cards, knitting, bird watching, family parties and reunions and an occasional trip to the casino.

She is survived by her son Gerald and his wife Pam Spencley, who were devoted to lovingly caring for her. Also, her children: Diana Spencley, Andrew (Judy) Spencley, Sandra (Sid) Yarbrough, and Petrina (Mike) Geary and son-in-law Russ Miller; her grandchildren Russel, Tracy, Scott, Joe, Carl, Jessica, Angela, Sarah, Matt, Andrew, Bert, Michael and Grace and their families; along with many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Gigi”, Roger and Nancy Spencley; nephews Mike and George Ignace and many nieces and nephews and families.

She is preceded in death by her husband Andrew J Spencley; daughters Debra Ann Miller and Donna Spencley; mother Patrina Defalco; father Ettore (Edward) Andreozzi; sister Louise Ignace, George Ignace; granddaughter Stephanie Short; in-laws Roy and Edna Spencley; dear friends Bee and Tootie Hall; and many cherished in laws.

There will be a visitation Thursday May 15, 2025 at Stone Funeral Home in Petoskey, Michigan. 5:00-6:00 for family and all welcome from 6:00-7:00 with a vigil following. On Friday, May 16, 2025 there will be a visitation at Saint Clement Catholic Church at 11:00AM. Funeral mass will be at 12:00PM, with a burial service at Bliss Cemetery afterwards. The family welcomes all to celebrate her life for dinner at 5:00 PM at the Spencley house that evening, 3174 N US Hwy 31, Levering.
